I'v been meaning to do some notes on this but baru tah ada chance. This was also cos I was there recently so I'm still a little bit down when they didn't do anything. My stone is said to be less than 1cm big so nothing wud b done n they hope with lots of fluid it wud go down my ureter and then come out in the urine.
But my huby still wonders if I were to be brought to JPMC on that day. Wud things b different? Wud they retrieve d stone regardless d size? N wud I undergo endoscopy to unblock the passage (clear the stone from the passage) or operation? Cos I was told there are also some small stones in my gallbladder, but 'you can keep them' she said. Huh! Keep? kan ku apa? N am worried they cud go big you know, if luan makan lamak..hehe I know..cut lah lamak atu..alamak!!
Some series of RIPAS's history that give me 2nd thoughts, these are from friends and relatives:
My late auntie was hospitalised d RIPAS. She passed away before the family got her results. They kept on asking, but they said alum siap. She went home and few weeks later passed away. My cousin then went to RIPAS and told 'siap udah ur mum's results..n my cuz said 'meninggal ia udah..' My uncle doesn't go there anymore walau untuk damam pebaik..he digs JPMC..(RIPAS ~ - 0)
My friend (an expatriate) conceived her 1st baby, checked d RIPAS and told she had ectopic pregnancy. She was asked to ask d huby to sign for an operation, they refused and thought of JPMC. Bawa kesana, d pregnancy turned out to be normal after all! N she delivered thru C section, and healthily. Now she has 2 daughters, the other one also delivered d JPMC. (JPMC ~ 1)
My friend's huby's worker had a minor leg operation. Hospitalised for some time and then due to inability to work still stayed out of work for another 2 months. Out of shame n consciousness of his boss's hospitality, he decided to go back home. There his leg was treated cos he complained of continuous pain. They had to do another surgery cos RIPAS didn't do it rite d 1st time, n his leg was apparently infected due to lack of dressing and sterilising! Now he is without work. (RIPAS ~ --0!)
My sister had her 1st child 3 yrs ago. She was at JPMC when they said she cud deliver normally. She was ready to huff and puff and everything (we cud hear her shouting due to d contractions!). Suddenly they decided to operate her cos d baby had taken in it's stool. But after that we were told by d huby she was given epidural to relieve pain and she wasn't in pain anymore cos that's wat epidural does. So it delayed her contractions and thus d baby was in her for a longer time, n swallowed her stool. We were so shocked to hear her baby's heartbeat was so weak and they had to rush d baby to another room for treatment. Anything for an operation = money! That cost them $3K.(JPMC ~-1)
So there you go. D gud n bad stuff. However the good stuff about JPMC that we always hear is 'laju, nda lama, mun d JPMC udah nie d...bla..bla...nya..'But little do we know that they actually took adv as well. Mana ada chance to get ur money, they wud. But I must say sometimes the outcomes inda jua berapa.
Now my dad warned us kan beranak jantah JPMC. Mun bduit pebaik cos d more bduit u r d more they will take adv of u. My sis yg dsana beranak pun, now she's pregnant, nda mau lagi kesana, she want to feel d beauty of delivering normally. N she really thinks with d expatriates d JPMC, nada org kan mendangankan membaca2. D RIPAS semua org Melayu or Islam at least kana ajar2 supaya beselawat or baca Surah Nabi Yunos. (RIPAS ~ +1)hehe..
Well..it's my blog..am only putting down my opinion..so sendiri mau ingat...
